Itinerary

Day 1 : Saturday – Welcome aboard in Mumbai

• Arrival at Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus by 4:00 PM for a grand traditional welcome.
• Complete check-in formalities and board your luxury cabin.
• Settle in as the Deccan Odyssey departs on its regal journey.
• Enjoy a gourmet dinner onboard as the train rolls out of Mumbai.

Day 2 : Sunday – Explore Vadodara

• Arrive in Vadodara, the cultural capital of Gujarat.
• Morning excursion to the UNESCO-listed Champaner-Pavagadh Archaeological Park.
• Visit the impressive 16th-century Jami Masjid showcasing Indo-Islamic architecture.
• Lunch onboard followed by a visit to the Maharaja Fateh Singh Museum.
• Experience royal hospitality during High Tea at the Laxmi Vilas Palace.
• Witness local folk performances and culinary delights.
• Return to the train as it departs for Udaipur.

Day 3 : Monday – The City of Lakes: Udaipur

• Wake up to views of the Aravalli Hills as the train arrives in Udaipur.
• Visit the majestic City Palace and the stunning Crystal Gallery.
• Enjoy a Scenic boat ride on Lake Pichola.
• Lunch at an exclusive heritage venue.
• Stroll through the Old City and discover local handicrafts, including puppets and textiles.
• Return to the Deccan Odyssey for dinner and an overnight journey to Jodhpur.

Day 4 : Tuesday – The Blue City: Jodhpur

• Enjoy a leisurely morning onboard as the train traverses the Thar Desert.
• Explore the imposing Mehrangarh Fort and its museum, home to royal artifacts and palanquins.
• Lunch onboard followed by awalking tour through the bustling Clock Tower Market.
• Enjoy a Tuk-tuk ride through heritage lanes and local bazaars.
• Evening at leisure in the Bar Lounge followed by dinner onboard.
• Overnight journey to Jaipur.

Day 5 : Wednesday – Jaipur: The Pink City

• Visit the 17th-century Amber Fort, renowned for its artistic Sheesh Mahal.
• En route, stop at the iconic Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds).
• After lunch at a city hotel, tour the opulent City Palace and its royal museum.
• Free time for shopping Jaipur’s famed textiles and gemstone jewelry.
• Dinner onboard as the train departs for Agra.

Day 6 : Thursday – The Marvels of Agra

• Visit the eternal symbol of love – the Taj Mahal, a masterpiece in white marble.
• Lunch at a city hotel followed by a tour of the UNESCO-listed Agra Fort.
• Visit Diwan-e-Am and Royal Pavilions within the fort.
• Optional market visit for Pietra Dura art and Mughal-inspired souvenirs.
• Return to the train for dinner and departure to Sawai Madhopur.

Day 7 : Friday – Ranthambhore Tiger Reserve

• Early morning village visit and interaction with local families.
• Return to the train for an early lunch.
• Afternoon safari in Ranthambhore National Park – a premier tiger reserve.
• Return to the train for dinner and departure to Sawai Madhopur.
• Share your wildlife photos and stories onboard as the journey continues to Delhi.

Day 8 : Saturday – Disembark in New Delhi

• Arrive at Safdarjung Railway Station by 7:15 AM.
• After breakfast, check out and bid farewell to the Deccan Odyssey – completing an unforgettable royal journey.

• Deluxe Cabin Guests: City sightseeing tours are conducted in air-conditioned buses with an English-speaking guide (except for shared Canter safaris in the Tiger Reserve).

• Presidential Suite Guests: City sightseeing tours are arranged in private air-conditioned cars with an English-speaking guide (except for shared Canter safaris in the Tiger Reserve).

Booking Terms & Conditions

• The booking will be confirmed on the receipt of 25% advance deposit of published value

• Balance 80% payment must reach us at least 50 days before the departure date with the reservation form.

• In case booking request is made less than 50 days of the departure date, we will require a one-time full advance deposit to confirm booking.

• Prices are subject to vary in the event that the itinerary is altered or if there are additional costs, such as fuel or taxes.

• Deccan Odyssey Train Tour is Jointly OPERATED by Tourism Department of Maharashtra State Govt & The Royal Journeys (A unit of Ebix Cash)

• Liability of Royal Indian Trains is limited to that of booking agent only.

Cancellation Rules

• The Deccan Odyssey Train Tour is operated through a joint collaboration between the Tourism Department of Maharashtra Government and Ebix Cash (Private Tour Operator).

• Royal Indian Trains acts solely as a booking agent and holds no operational liability.

• All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing and acknowledged by us.

Cancellation Fees

• More than 63 days before departure: 10% of the published value (inclusive of taxes).

• 62 to 48 days before departure: 20% of the published value.

• 47 to 33 days before departure: 50% of the published value.

• Less than 33 days before departure: 100% of the published value (inclusive of taxes).

Special Cancellation & Refund Conditions

• If the the Train Tour Operator cancels the scheduled departure for any reason, afull refundwill be provided

• No refund will be issued if:

  • The guest fails to follow the scheduled itinerary or shortens their journey.

  • The guest is unable to obtain an Indian document.

• In case of a fitness emergency, supporting fitness records will be reviewed by the Train Management, and their decision will be final.

• If a refund is applicable, Royal Indian Trains reserves the right to deduct USD 100 per person as bank processing fees.

• Refunds will be processed based on the Indian Rupees exchange value received at the time of payment.

Important

• The scheduled train tour departure is subject to a minimum booking of 25 passengers.

• All foreign passport holders must obtain an Indian document before boarding their flight from their country of residence.

• Guests are strongly advised to purchase travel insurance in their home country prior to departure.

• Any disputes, if arising, shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts in Delhi , India.
