Train Tour Cost Includes

• Overnight travel onboard train in the comfort of richly furnished private A/C sleeping chambers with ensuite bathrooms.

• Entrance fees For monuments & jungle reserves.
• Deluxe Cabin Guests: City sightseeing tours are conducted in air-conditioned buses with an English-speaking guide (except for shared Canter safaris in the Tiger Reserve).
• Presidential Suite Guests: City sightseeing tours are arranged in private air-conditioned cars with an English-speaking guide (except for shared Canter safaris in the Tiger Reserve).

Exclusions (Extra costs not included in train tour tariff)

• Govt. taxes & insurance.
• Optional use of spa facility or laundry services.
• Gratuities – Tips or porter fee.
• Video & professional still camera fees.
• Any activity mentioned as optional in the tour journey.
• Air tickets.
• Travel/Tour insurance.
• Transfer to & from the railway station on start & end of itinerary.

Booking Terms & Conditions

• The booking will be confirmed on the receipt of 25% advance deposit of published ticket value
• Balance 80% payment must reach us at least 50 days before the departure date with the reservation form.
• In case booking request is made less than 50 days of the departure date, we will require a one-time full advance deposit to confirm booking.
• Prices are subject to vary in the event that the itinerary is altered or if there are additional costs, such as fuel or taxes.
• Deccan Odyssey Train Tour is Jointly OPERATED by Tourism Department of Maharashtra State Govt & The Royal Journeys (A unit of Ebix Cash)
• Liability of Royal Indian Trains is limited to that of booking agent only.

Cancellation Rules

• The Deccan Odyssey Train Tour is operated through a joint collaboration between the Tourism Department of Maharashtra Government and Ebix Cash (Private Tour Operator).
• Royal Indian Trains acts solely as a booking agent and holds no operational liability.
• All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing and acknowledged by us.

Cancellation Fees

• More than 63 days before departure: 10% of the published ticket value (inclusive of taxes).
• 62 to 48 days before departure: 20% of the published ticket value.
• 47 to 33 days before departure: 50% of the published ticket value.
• Less than 33 days before departure: 100% of the published ticket value (inclusive of taxes).

Special Cancellation & Refund Conditions

• If the the Train Tour Operator cancels the scheduled departure for any reason, afull refundwill be provided
• No refund will be issued if:
  • The guest fails to follow the scheduled itinerary or shortens their journey.
  • The guest is unable to obtain an Indian visa.
• In case of a medical emergency, supporting medical records will be reviewed by the Train Management, and their decision will be final.
• If a refund is applicable, Royal Indian Trains reserves the right to deduct USD 100 per person as bank processing fees.
• Refunds will be processed based on the Indian Rupees exchange value received at the time of payment.

• The scheduled train tour departure is subject to a minimum booking of 25 passengers.
• All foreign passport holders must obtain an Indian visa before boarding their flight from their country of residence.
• Guests are strongly advised to purchase travel insurance in their home country prior to departure.
• Any disputes, if arising, shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts in Delhi, India.

Itinerary

Day-wise Itinerary
Day 1 : Saturday – Welcome Aboard in Mumbai
Arrive at Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (Fort Area) by 3:30 PM.
Traditional welcome and check-in for your journey through Maharashtra’s royal landscapes.
Settle into your elegant cabin aboard the Deccan Odyssey.
Depart Mumbai as the train sets off toward Nashik.
Enjoy a delectable dinner onboard and your first night on this opulent train.

Day 2 : Sunday – Sacred Nashik & Sula Vineyards
Begin your day in Nashik, known for its religious heritage and vineyards.
Walk along the sacred Godavari Ghats witnessing Hindu rituals in motion.
Explore vibrant local markets filled with spices, seafood, flowers, and more.
Visit the famous Sula Vineyards for a guided tour and wine tasting experience.
Learn about winemaking and sample their finest red, white, and sparkling selections.
Enjoy lunch amidst the vineyards before returning to the train.
The Deccan Odyssey departs for Aurangabad. Dinner onboard.

Day 3 : Monday – Ellora Caves & Aurangabad
Arrive in Aurangabad, named after the last great Mughal Emperor, Aurangzeb.
Drive to the UNESCO-listed Ellora Caves – 34 rock-cut temples dedicated to Hindu, Buddhist, and Jain faiths.
Marvel at the colossal Kailash Temple, an engineering masterpiece carved from a single rock.
Return to the train for a leisurely lunch.
Enjoy the rest of your day onboard – relax with a movie, spa treatment, or traditional Indian board games.
Cocktail hour and dinner as the train continues toward Ajanta.

Day 4 : Tuesday – Timeless Art at Ajanta Caves
Morning excursion to the Ajanta Caves, a breathtaking UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Admire 30 rock-hewn Buddhist caves adorned with frescoes and sculptures, reflecting spiritual devotion and artistic excellence.
Return to the train for lunch.
The Deccan Odyssey departs for Kolhapur. Enjoy onboard experiences or relax with high tea while the Indian countryside glides past.

Day 5 : Wednesday – Cultural Heritage of Kolhapur

Arrive in Kolhapur, a city rich with history, art, and spirituality.
After an early lunch onboard, begin your cultural exploration:
· Visit the New Palace Museum, an exquisite 19th-century octagonal palace.
· Discover royal memorabilia at the Town Hall Museum.
· Shop for handcrafted Kolhapuri chappals at local markets.
· Visit the 1300-year-old Mahalakshmi Temple, a Shakti Peetha.

Day 6 : Thursday – Goa Beaches, Latin Quarters & Spice Plantation

Tour Fontainhas, Panjim’s Latin Quarter, filled with colonial-era architecture and vibrant houses.
Visit Old Goa to explore its majestic churches and ruins, including the iconic St. Augustine Tower.

High Tea at a heritage Portuguese mansion en route to a South Goa beach.
Return to the Deccan Odyssey for dinner. Overnight journey to Sindhudurg via the scenic Konkan Railway.

Day 7 : Friday – Sindhudurg, Tribal Villages & Royal Palaces
Arrive at Sindhudurg, a historic coastal destination in Maharashtra.
Excursion to Pinguli Tribal Village to interact with local artisans and witness a traditional puppet show.
Visit the majestic Sawantwadi Palace for a cultural immersion featuring a folk dance performance and authentic Malvani cuisine lunch.
Return to the train by late afternoon.

Day 8 : Saturday – Sindhudurg, Tribal Villages & Royal Palaces
Arrive at Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus by 8:30 AM.

Bid adieu to the Deccan Odyssey – a voyage through heritage, culture, and timeless elegance.
