This tour touches two interesting cities Mumbai and Aurangabad and an archeological place of international importance, the caves of Ajanta and Ellora. Ajanta Ellora Caves Tour Itinerary Package

Day 1: Arrival at Mumbai

The tour begins with your arrival in Mumbai. Our Namaste India Trip representative will meet you at the airport and take you to your hotel. You can spend the day as you wish to soak in the flavors of Mumbai. You can grab a bite at any Parsee eatery, take a stroll down the Marine Drive, watch a Hindi movie or see the famous film studios and houses of your favorite film stars be it Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan or cricketing God Sachin Tendulkar. While it may not be possible to know Mumbai in a day, do save some energy to see the city transform itself into a beauty at night. Take rest before stepping out on a guided tour the next morning.

Day 2: Guided Tour of Mumbai
After breakfast proceed for a guided tour of the major attractions in Mumbai. Kamla Nehru Park and Hanging Gardens situated on the slopes of Malabar Hill, offering a panoramic view of Marine drive & Chowpatty Beach, Prince of Wales Museum, Mani Bhavan, Dhobi Ghat, Gateway of India and drive through the Crawford market, Marine Drive & Flora Fountain. We suggest you have the famous snacks like Vada Pav, bhel puri, gol gappa and Nariyal Pani before you end the city tour of Mumbai. Retire for the night in the luxury of your hotel in Mumbai.

Day 3: Mumbai – Aurangabad
A flight from Mumbai to Aurangabad takes around 1 hr. We will transfer you to the airport at Mumbai and again from airport to your hotel in Aurangabad. You can explore this historical city on your own for the rest of the day visiting beautiful places like Bibi ka Maqbara which is an imitation of the Taj Mahal in Agra, the Panchakki – a 17th-century water mill, Salim Ali Lake and bird sanctuary while savouring its famous Naan Qalia.

Day 4: Aurangabad – Ajanta – Ellora
After breakfast we take you for a full day tour of Ajanta and Ellora Caves which have been declared as the World Heritage Sites by UNESCO. Ajanta Caves are 106 kms from Aurangabad and date back to the 2nd century BC. The 30 rock cut caves are adorned with Buddhist sculpture and the frescoes portray in epic form the religious and secular life through eight centuries. Ellora Caves which are at a distance of around 29 kms encompass 34 rock cut shrines representing Buddhist, Hindu & Jain art dating from the 4th to 9th century A.D. The most remarkable among them is the Kailash Temple, meant to be a replica of Lord Shiva’s celestial abode – Kailash is the best example of Rock cut architecture and an engineering marvel. Return to your hotel and rest for the night.

Day 5: Aurangabad – Mumbai – Departure
We will transfer you to airport for flight to Mumbai and again take you to the international airport for an onward flight. But if you have a mind and some time, do bargain and shop some collectibles from Mumbai Chor bazaar – the thief’s market.
