Char Dham holds the strong credentials from the four holy quarters. Region was visualized and planned by Adi Shankaracharya in the era of 8th AD, it is the most popular religious destination in Uttarakhand in India. Initially Bada Chardham was consisting of Badrinath, Puri, Rameshwaram and Dwarka, gradually the Chota Char Dham consisting of Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamnotri have become more popular accessible to the devotees. Chardham Yatra is a year round destination with Summer and Winter location/placement of the god seat. The ideal time to visit Char Dham is from April, to June and September to October. Winter (October – March)
Winters period from November to March. Observing the low temperatures and excessive snowfall, the Darshan is are put on hold during this period and praying seat is shifted in order to better observe the prayers . The Char Dham summer seats are opened directly in spring, from Akshaya Tritiya. The Himalayan weather is extremely difficult and continually changing. Hence it is advisable to better planbefore starting the tour. Winter chardham involves neglble walkng as compared to summer chardham.
Summer (April – June)
The nature blossoms from April to September/October. This season is blessed to to visit Yamunotri, Gangotri and Kedarnath and Badrinath temples. are situated higher up, with summer starting not until the end of April. It is advisable to carry woolen cloths in summer as well sometimes temperature drop in the evening. The temperature averages between 15–36° C.
Monsoon (June – September)
Season decline with June ened untl September due to rans and landslide. With rains, landslides and flooding are all common with the overflow of water. Therefore, travel in these months is not suggested. After the rains and prior to winter, the valleys are beautiful with green flora and fauna all around and the winter start approaching by this time. The temperature averages between 08–10° C.
Char Dham Yatra is very significant to elderly pilgrims, yet the great height, low temperatures and extensive hours during the journey demand special attention. By taking the right steps, elders can comfortably experience the offering of chardham yatra tour packages.
