Amarnath Yatra Registration 2023


Amarnath Yatra Dates is very popular amongst the Shiva Devotees and the passengers planning for Jammu and Kashmir tour between June to August. Amarnath Yatra Schedule is fixed by Jammu and Kashmir government by its authorized bodyShri Amarnathji Shrine Board. As per schedule Amarnath Yatra is organized inthe month of  June /July till August. The schedule of starting and closingdates is different for each year. Amarnath Yatra Dates is planned according tothe hindu calendar and Masik Shivratri. Every year the starting date of theyatra is not fixed but the closing date of the yatra is Sawan Purnima.



The schedule variate and the Annual Holy Pilgrimage starts in the month ofJune and sometimes it starts in July. Amarnath Yatra by any chance if delayedstarts by the 2nd of July that particular year otherwise the second, third orfourth week of June are fixed, on the same lines the last date of Yatra isSawan Purnima. So whatever dates will fall during Sawan Purnima yatra with concluding for that year. Generally, Sawan Purnima falls in the month of August. hence August is fixed for the closing date.



The total time frame of Amarnath Yatra is also not fixed for each year. It isusually open for the pilgrims for the time frame of 35 days to 60 days in a particularyear. The Spiritual journey to the Amarnath cave of Lord Shiva ispopular among the devotees as It is advisable to plan from 1st July onward.Every year, Lakhs of pilgrims wait desperately for this yatra to open. The holycave is at an altitude of 13700 ft above sea level on the Himalayas, mostimportant it is a lifetime opportunity for all pilgrims. Every year, theAmarnath Pilgrimage is open for the devotees during the month of June andAugust. That is the time to attain the real blessings of the almighty LordShiva through his ‘Ice Shivalinga’ form. This year, June/July 2023 is the Amarnath Yatra opening Month. It isthe auspicious day of Skandshasthi on which the holy cave door will be open forthe devotees. The yatra will remain in continuation for about two months and receives its conclusion on Shravan Purnima. Following the announcement of the Amarnath Yatra opening date 2023, registrations for the pilgrimage from routes such as Amarnath Yatra Via Baltal and Amarnath Yatra Via Pahalgam willstart. According to the rules, devotees need to carry registration or say permitcards with them to undertake the yatra trek. Also, pilgrims are essential tosubmit their respective health certificates while they are applying forregistration. AmarnathYatra 2023 registrations or bookings can be plan inadvance. Devotees are free to choose their mode of the yatra Road, Helicopter,trekking, etc.

 Useful Tips on the Yatra


Dress: Pilgrims are advised to carry sufficient woolens such as sweaters, drawers, woolen strousers, monkey cap, etc. Other items could include wind cheaters,raincoats, sleeping bags or blankets, umbrellas, waterproof boots/shoes,walking sticks, a torch, etc. Ladies are advised not to go on the trek in saris, instead Salwar suits should be used.


Medical Assistance: Medical posts manned by qualified doctors and nursing staff are established en route tocater to the needs of the pilgrims, free of cost. However, pilgrims are advised to carry along any medicines specifically prescribed for them.


Provisions: Essentialrations are available at fair price rates from the specially established Govt.Depots at Chandanwari, Sheshnag, and Panchami, Numerous wayside tea-shops and small restaurants are set up by private parties. However, pilgrims are advised to carry with them biscuits, tinned food, etc. to cater to their immediate needs. Firewood or gas can be obtained at Chandanwari, Sheshnag, Panchtarni, and near the Cave.


Insurance: Inview of the hazardous nature, pilgrims are advised to insure themselves before proceeding on the Yatra. In recent years SASB has been providing Accident Insurance cover to the Registered Yatris (Pilgrims).


Accommodation: Good tented accommodation with allied facilities is set up during the Yatra period.These are provided on the basis of payment of rates fixed by the authorities manning the Yatra.


Registration:Registrations open early by the agents so that pilgrim allocation can be better coordinated with the Amarnath Shrine board. The dates are notified through press advertisements usually 2-3 months in advance but the usual Schedule asappraised above is Opening on Sk and Shasthi & closing on Swan Purnima. As per rules, no Yatri is allowed to proceed on the journey without a Registration Card/ Permit. The process of Registration for Yatris (Pilgrims) of Shri Amarnath ji Yatra 2022 will commence according to the dates set by the Shrine Board, simultaneously for both the Baltal and Chandanwari routes,through our offices is starting from 1st December 2021


Do's And Don'ts for the Yatris: It is important to observe discipline on the trek and keep moving slowly and steadily. Adhere to the instructions issued by the Yatra Officer from time to time. Officials of the State Government from various concerned Departments are deployed on duty to help the pilgrims.


Youmust also ensure that you are physically fit for the journey, and have yourself medically examined. Remember that you have to cross Mahagunus pass which is atan altitude of 14,000 feet above sea level. It is now essential for the applicant Yatri to submit a Compulsory Health Certificate while seeking registration for this year’s Shri Amarnath ji Yatra.


Pilgrims may take this caution, that ponies carrying your luggage and eatables remain with you at all times. Also ensure that the Pony walla, laborer or Dandiwalla is properly registered and carries a token. You can get these allotted at fixed rates at the base camps..

 Why do I need to Register for Shri Amarnath Yatra?


Keeping in view the safety and security along with the covid protocol number ofthe pilgrims and the carrying capacity of the mountainous tracks,the number of pilgrims allowed to undertake the Yatra in 2022 is not announced yet by Shri Amarnath Yatra 2022. Usually, Pahalgam-Chandanwari Trackand Sonamarg-Baltal Track would each be allowed to have 7500 Registrations every day. To regulate this SASB has made it mandatory for all the pilgrims to register well before undertaking the Yatra.

The high-altitude trek to the Holy Cave involves exposure to extreme cold, low humidity, increased ultraviolet radiations, and reduced air pressure. Under these conditions only physically fit are advised to apply for the Yatra Registration and this is the reason a Compulsory Health Certificates (CHC) is mandatory for each applicant. The Compulsory Health Certificate (CHC) format made by SASB is also available online.


 Also,note that the prescribed CHC should have been issued betweena particular period in 2022 by the Authorized Doctor/ Medical Institution. CHC's issued before that period would not be valid for Shri Amarnath Yatra 2021.
