Adi-Kailash (Om Parvat) | Chota Kailash

Adi Kailash is a spiritual destination for the pilgrims in the Himalayan Region, synonymous with Mount Kailash in Tibet. The holy location is actually known as the abode of Lord Shiva in a remote area of Nabidang. The road is paved by motorable vehicles (Bolero) now since 2021 &  Trekking is also available via Kalapani to Adi Kailash in the Himalayan ranges of the Kumaun region near the Indo-Tibetan Border in district Pithoragarh.

The Midway area of Gunji / Napalchu is paved by vehicles now and then drive to Adi Kailash/Parvati Kund & Gaurikund and Holy Om Parvat (one day each location i.e., to be covered in 2 days).

Jonglingkong area is often called Chhota Kailash (6191 m) , the region is small & seasonal but has a beautiful lake called Parvati Kund & Gaurikund & a temple of Lord Shiva along with a majestic hill with Shiva in standing pose. The reflection of the peak in the lake is really fascinating. There is a temple near the lake, which is often visited by swan-like birds. At a small distance there are remains of a dry lake as well (several stories are available on the internet referring to the same) . Side by side with the river Kuti are two passes – Lampia Dhura and Mangsa Dhura – leading to Tibet. We can cross Sinla pass to reach Bedang only with the permission and pass issued by the ITBP and SPF personnel. The entire area of Sinla pass is covered with snow. A view of Chhota Kailas peak is available from various angles from the base of Jollykong.
