How to Reach Tangling (Base Camp)
From Chandigarh: Road journey (~320 km, 10–12 hrs) via Shimla → Reckong Peo → Tangling by bus or taxi
Railway access: Chandigarh/Kalka → Toy‐train to Shimla → onward by road
By air: Nearest airport – Chandigarh; no civilian service at Shimla’s Jubbarhatti
Inner‑Line Permit (ILP) issued by Reckong Peo authorities is mandatory
Many tour operators include yatra registration, medical certificate, and guides in packages
Difficulty & Fitness Requirements
Rated moderate-to-difficult, with steep climbs and possible altitude issues
Good cardio fitness & prior trekking experience recommended; 1–2 months of pre‑trek conditioning advised
