A massive flood in the Bhotekoshi River on Tuesday morning has caused significant damage at the Rasuwagadhi border. The highly important Miteri Bridge, located on the Nepal–China border, has been swept away, along with newly imported electric vehicles (EVs) that were kept at the Rasuwagadhi dry port.
According to Arjun Paudel, the Chief District Officer (CDO) of Rasuwa, the flood originated from the Chinese side and has caused extensive physical damage. He stated, “The Miteri Bridge has been washed away, and the new electric vehicles at the dry port have also been swept away.”
Some individuals were stranded due to the flood, but they have been rescued. CDO Paudel informed that even the security team deployed for rescue operations had been trapped in the flood, but all members have now been safely rescued.
Local administration, security agencies, and concerned authorities have been mobilized at the incident site. The process of collecting detailed information on the damage is ongoing.
