Manimahesh Yatra, centered around the holy Manimahesh Lake below Kailash peak in Himachal, reflects devotion, purity, and surrender—all within nature’s awe-inspiring silence.
Day 1: Chandigarh to Recong Peo
Your journey starts early in the morning between 5:00 to 6:00 AM from Chandigarh. As you drive uphill, the scenery gradually transforms into lush pine forests and towering Himalayan ranges. The route passes through popular hill points like Shimla, Kufri, Narkanda and Rampur, offering scenic tea breaks and photography spots along the way. By evening, you arrive in Recong Peo, the administrative and cultural heart of Kinnaur. After checking in, relax and enjoy the cool mountain breeze with views of the Kinnar kailash range.
Day 2: Kinnar kailash Doordarshan - Havan Ceremony - Kalpa Village Walk
Begin early for the sacred Kinnar kailash Doordarshan, where the mighty Shivling- shaped rock appears glowing in the soft morning sunlight. After the divine viewing, a traditional havan is performed to seek blessings. Later, drive to the serene village of Kalpa. In the evening, enjoy a peaceful walk through apple orchards, narrow village lanes and beautifully carved ancient temples. The sunset view over the snow-covered peaks of Kinnar kailash makes your stay unforgettable. Overnight at Kalpa.
Day 3: Kalpa to Gabasaran - Enroute Temples & View Points - Stay at Bag Sarahan
After breakfast, depart from Kalpa for Gabasaran. The route takes you through breathtaking valleys, deep gorges and traditional Kinnauri settlements. On the way, stop at several ancient temples and scenic viewpoints where the Himalayan ranges unfold in their full glory. Each halt lets you experience local culture, architecture and panoramic landscapes. By late afternoon or evening, reach Bag Sarahan, a peaceful destination surrounded by forests
Day 4: Jaon Village - Shrikhand Mahadev Doordarshan - Havan Program
Start the day with a drive to Jaon village, known as the base point for Shrikhand Mahadev Yatra. Here, visit the Shrikhand Mahadev Doordarshan point from where the sacred peak can be seen clearly on a bright day. The village hosts a spiritual havan ceremony, where you participate in local rituals performed by priests. Spend time interacting with villagers, exploring the natural surroundings and enjoying the divine atmosphere before settling in for the night.
Day 5: Jaon Village to Dharamshala
Leave early from Jaon for a scenic drive towards Dharamshala. The journey takes you through winding mountain roads, dense forests and small Himalayan towns. Based on available time, multiple sightseeing options are possible en route. Upon reaching Dharamshala - a peaceful place known for monasteries and Tibetan culture - check in at the hotel and unwind for the evening.
Day 6: Dharamshala to Bharmour - Via Dalhousie, Khajjiar & Chamba
After breakfast, proceed from Dharamshala towards Bharmour. Depending on road conditions and time, enjoy sightseeing in Dalhousie, Khajjiar (also known as Mini Switzerland of India) and Chamba. Khajjiar's lush green meadows and deodar forests offer a refreshing break. Later, continue driving through river valleys and mountain passes to reach Bharmour by evening. Check into your hotel and prepare for the spiritually significant day ahead.
Day 7: Manimahesh Kailash Doordarshan - Brahmani Mata - 84 Temples Complex
Begin early in the morning for Manimahesh Kailash Doordarshan. The majestic view of the holy Kailash peak reflecting over the valley creates a deeply spiritual experience. After the darshan, proceed to the sacred Brahmani Mata Temple located on a hillside surrounded by nature. Later in the evening, visit the famous Chaurasi (84) Temples Complex in Bharmour, which includes Dharamraj Temple and Chitragupt Temple, known for their ancient architecture and mythological importance. Spend some peaceful time in the temple courtyard before returning to the hotel.
Day 8: Bharmour to Amritsar - Airport/Railway Station Drop
On the final day, begin the drive from Bharmour towards Amritsar. The descending route offers scenic valley views, giving you time to reflect on the spiritual journey of all three Kailash Doordarshan. Upon reaching Amritsar, you are dropped at the airport or railway station, marking the conclusion of your blessed and memorable Himachal 3 Kailash pilgrimage.
